Ever Inchie Monday - Wild

Wild is the theme for this weeks challenge at Every Inchie Monday, I decided to do a wild animal, I have a lovely stamp of a lions head that I was going to use on shrink plastic but I couldn't find it so I rummaged in my stamps and found this lovely Hobby Art stamp of a badger.

I used Distress ink on the background and stamped the badger onto shrink plastic with Stazon.

Faces ATCs

Before I share the ATCs I'd like to thank you for your good wishes for Josh. He's still tender round his injuries but is a lot better in himself.

I made the ATCs for the Paperplay July ATC swap - the theme was Faces.

For this ATC I sprayed some kraft card with dylusions spray and then used a mask and some modelling paste, when the paste had dried I went over it with some gold acrylic paint. The image was stamped on some card that I'd coloured a while ago, I wrapped some gold thread round it before adhering it to the background. The word was done on my Dymo.
I used a Rubber Stampede stamp for the image.

I stamped the face onto white card then made a mask to mask the face. I stamped the background and sponged some distress ink, I then cut the hair from the mask and added some more colour to the background. I removed the mask and made another to cover the ATC leaving the face showing and stamped the spots. After removing the masks I embossed some cosmic shimmer powder round the edge. I used my Dymo for the word and attached it with some staples.
The stamps I used are
Stampers Anonymous for the face image and the spots.
PaperArtsy for the background.

I coloured some card with Glimmer Mist, stamped some script, wrapped some gold thread round it and then matted it onto some black card. I stamped and embossed the image and adhered it to the background and added some gems.
The stamps I used are PaperArtsy.

Every Inchie Monday - Fantasy

What a traumatic day today has been. My poor dog Josh was attacked by another dog this morning and has been at the vets all day. He has lots of holes in his chest and side. I didn't go on the walk today so my husband had to sort it. The owner walks three bull terriers and one of them went for Josh, the other two started to get excited so Ian had to keep hold of them by their collars while the owner got her dog of Josh. My other dog Murphy did a runner so Ian had to look for him but couldn't find him, he was eventually found by a council worker running round the town, this all happened at 6-30 this morning when there wasn't many people about. The vet decided not to stitch his wounds as sometimes dog bites can get infected behind the stitch so he gave them a good clean. He said that two of the holes were connected and when he put the disinfectant in one it came out of the other. The woman hopefully will pay the vets bill - she said she would. Poor Ian has a very badly bruised finger because one of the dogs twisted while he had hold of it's collar.

I was going to post some ATCs that I made for the UK Stampers ATC swap - I mailed them earlier today, but realised later when I couldn't find the photos that I hadn't taken any. I blame the heat - it has nothing to do with age.

So here are two inchies that I made for the Every Inchie Monday challenge, the theme is Fantasy. I've always loved fairies for as long as I can remember so my inchie had to have fairies on it.

I used Caroline's stamps on a scrap of coloured card.

For this inchie I used part of a Rubber Stampede stamp.

Craft-Room Challenge - Heat Embossing

Another fortnight has gone by and it's time for the latest Craft-Room Challenge, the challenge is Heat Embossing and it has been chosen by the lovely Suzanne. This is what she has to say about why she chose the challenge.

I selected my theme based on the past couple of summers we have had here in the UK - which have been far from good.  I thought we may do with a bit of "heat" although if we are at present experiencing a heatwave then the theme may prove a little unpopular as the last thing we will all want is to get those heat guns out ...whoops!  However I would love to see your heat embossing on your crafty projects......

"HEAT EMBOSSING"

Our sponsor for the challenge is Stamp Addicts.

Our Guest Designer for this month it is Helene aka 2amscrapper.
We are looking for a new GD for the month of October, if you are interested, please add GDT after your name when taking entry to the challenge.

For my DT project I decided to use the Embossing Powder Technique that Birgit Koopsen used for her project in the July issue of The Craft Stamper Magazine.

I have a collection of Moon Glow embossing powder in quite a lot of colours so I decided to use them on my card.
I started by covering a piece of mountboard with Versamark and sprinkling different coloured powders over it, I also used aged silver  Frantage powder around the edges. I melted it with my heat gun but wasn't pleased with the result so I just kept adding more powder until I liked the result. I then stencilled some Versamark through a mask and embossed with white powder, then I stamped the image with black Stazon.

This is the mountboard before I stamped on it.

For the background I used the powders in exactly the same way onto a piece of white card and matted it onto a black card blank, then I adhered the main image and some gems.

I used a PaperArtsy/Lynne Perrella stamp for the main image.

This is a photo of the background. Unfortunately the photo's don't show the glimmer of the mica embossing powders.

I'm entering my card in The Craft Stamper Magazine Take-It-Make-It-Challenge-Three, Embossing Powder Technique.

We had some beautiful entries in Julia's Vintage Stamping challenge, she's going to find it hard to choose her top three.
As usual the DT have made some fabulous samples so why not take a visit to the Craft-Room Challenge to take a look.

Yellow and Orange and Blue and Brown Tags

Earlier this year I joined in with a couple of tag swaps at KCUK and thought it was time that I blogged them.

The theme for this tag was Yellow and Orange.

The background was coloured with Distress ink and Dylusions. I embossed a piece of card and tore a strip and adhered it to the tag. I stamped the bees onto white card and coloured them with Promarkers. I fussy cut them and covered the wings with Stickles, when this was dry I adhered them to the tag.

Stamps used
The Artistic Stamper for the background.
Stampotique for the bees.
A printing set for the words busy bees.

The theme for this tag is Blue and Brown

I used ribbed kraft card for the tag and painted it with some blue acrylic paint. I used a script embossing folder with some black card and used Treasure Brass on the embossing then I adhered it to the bottom of the tag. I stamped the images on white card with coffee Archival and edged them with blue distress ink. The square image was adhered to a fragment before being put on the tag. I added some ribbon and a charm.

Stamps used.
PaperArtsy/Lynne Perrella stamps for the images.

The latest theme at Fun With ATCs is Classic Films, the film I've chosen is Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.

I stamped Alfred on to white card with Versamark and embossed with black powder. I fussy cut him out and adhered him to the background.

Vintage Stamping

I'ts the lovely Julia's turn to choose the theme for the latest Craft Room Challenge and Vintage Stamping is the theme she has chosen.

This is what she has to say about the challenge.
I love anything vintage, particularly in the craft world and I am in my element when working with this genre.  I would like to see any vintage stamping project, but just for this challenge  no cute please.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Tando Creative, who produced some of the best chipboard products (in my opinion) on the market, so a very big thank you to them.

Tando Creative
Our guest designer for July is very talented Helene aka 2amscrapper.

Here is my DT piece.

The card I used for the background is from a scalloped edged card blank that I'd messed up, I cut it to fit the card blank that I was using and I also rounded the corners of the card blank.
I started by stamping the background with Distress ink then I added some tissue tape.
I stamped the image onto white card and watercoloured it with Distress ink, I rounded the corners and edged it with vintage photo Distress ink, I also inked the edges of the background and the card blank. I adhered some lace to the image then adhered it to the background.
I added the flowers and embellishments, then I masked the image and sprayed pink, yellow and green mica spray over the flowers and lace.

The stamps I used are.
JustRite for the diamond background.
7Gypsies for the butterfly.
Flonzcraft for the main image.

As usual the rest of the Design team have made some fabulous samples so please visit the Craft Room Challenge site to take a look.

Alpha Challenge - Letter B

I knew what I was going to do for the letter B in the Craft Barns Alpha Challenge as soon as I saw the buttercups flowering in the meadows where I walk the dogs. The meadows looked so beautiful. I picked a few of the flowers to press in the dictionary that I'm pulling to pieces for my journal.

I've no idea who made the stamp that I used. I water coloured the flowers with Distress ink and adhered my dried flowers.

Here is a close up of the word in the dictionary.

and here are a couple of photos of the buttercups in the meadows.

Butterfly ATCs.

I chose the theme for the June Paperplay ATC swap and Butterflies is what I chose.

All three ATCs are the same except that I used different colours.
The backgrounds are coloured with Distress inks.
I stamped the Crafty Individuals image twice and cut out the butterfly from one of the images to embellish the ATC.
I embossed Frantage powder round the edge - some of it blew into the centre.

Inchie - Hour

Hour is the theme for this weeks challenge at Every Inchie Monday.
For my inchie I've chosen to do Happy Hour.

For my inchie I used an Inkadinkado stamp and some stickles and a red gem for the cherry.
