First Craft Room Challenge Anything Goes.

Well, the big day has finally arrived, it's the launch of the fortnightly Craft Room Challenge and the first challenge is Anything Goes. A random draw will take place at the end of each challenge and the winner will receive £10 to spend with our sponser Craft Room. I hope you will join in the fun with me and the rest of the Design Team.
My first piece for the Design Team is a tag. I coloured the tag with blue and orange acrylic paint and stamped the dots with coffee Archival ink. I added a piece of embossed card that had been embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder done in my Epic 6. The next thing to go on was some corrugated card that I had painted with orange acrylic paint. The main image and sentiment tag were stamped with black Archival ink and coloured with Distress ink. You can't tell from the photo that I'd covered the main image with stickles. The 'say cheese' at the bottom of the tag is a narrow strip of blue card put through a Dymo machine and I put a bit of rusty hinge Distress ink over the top with my finger. I embellished the tag with a camera charm, some gems and ribbon.
Stamps used.
Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous, the main image and dotty background.
PaperArtsy, the sentiment tag.

Less is More Pick a Square

The challenge at Less is More this week is to pick one of 5 squares, we could use one of the 4 corners or the centre. For the first card the stamp I used was going to be used last week for the butterfly challenge but I didn't have time to join in the challenge. It's by Paper Inspirations and it's one of my all time favoretes.
The background stamp is a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamp and the cat is by Inkadinkado.
Another Inkadinkado stamp. I used Kaleidacolor put on with a baby wipe for the background.

Steampunk Pendants

I thought I'd show something different today. I made this pendent at a jewellery workshop a couple of months ago. It started of as a brooch but I decided I'd prefer it as a pendant so I added a hangy thing at the top.
It was my friend Alison's birthday this week so I made her this pendant for her gift. I added a cord to finish it of.
I didn't like this one very much when I made it and was going to pull it apart, but the more I looked at it the more I liked it.

Chunky Alphabet Book Y and Z

Here are the last pages for KCUKs Chunky Alphabet swap.
Y is for Yellow Brick Road.
I used a Creative Expressions mask on some white card and stencilled it with some Distress ink and then stamped the crackled effect with a Tattered Angels stamp. I stamped the main images [Artistic Outpost] onto some white card and coloured them with Promarkers. The red shoes have some stickles on them.

Z is for Zebra.
For this page I started by putting some white card and a Dreamweaver stencil through my Epic 6 die cutting machine to get a Zebra skin effect. Before taking the stencil of the card I went over it with some black soot Distress ink. The main image is stamped with a Stampendous stamp onto white card, I used Distress ink to colour it. I don't know who makes the Zebra stamp but I stamped it onto shrink plastic with Stazon and attached them to the page after shrinking them.

If The Crown Fits

This is the card I've made for the Simon Says Stamp and Show some Wendy Vecchi style. As these are the only Wendy Vecchi stamps that I own I didn't have a lot of choice as to what I used. The silhouette and sentiment are the Wendy Vecchi stamps the other stamps that I used are Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous. The inks used are Distress inks. I coloured the chipboard crown with gold ink and added some gems.

Tea Time

This is my entry for for the May Altered Alice challenge. The theme is time. For this I thought I'd use my lovely new Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations weathered clock die. For the background I used a piece of Graphics 45 Steampunk Debutante paper. The clock, clock background and letters were cut from some card I coloured months ago, I can't remember what I used to colour them, I really must start writing down ingredients on the backs of things I colour. The Mad Hatters Tea Party is a Lost Coast Designs stamp and I coloured it with Promarkers and went over it with some frayed burlap Distress ink.

When A Bell Rings

I've made this tag for the Grungy Monday 7 challenge at Studio L3 and the Simon Says Stamp Stamp and Show an Old Wives Tale challenge.
For the Grungy Monday challenge we had to do the Tim Holtz distress ink color blocking technique, you can see him demonstrating the technique here.
I stamped the main image, coloured it in and then cut it out. I stamped the wings onto some sticky backed aluminium with black Stazon and then stuck it to some black card. I went over the lines on the wings with an embossing tool to give them a bit of definition then cut them out and attached them to the main image and then I attached this to the tag. I did the words on the computer and cut them out and attached them to the tag. I embellished the tag with an angel word charm and some mini bells that I attached to the sari ribbon with a safety pin.
The stamps I've used are,
Stampotique for the main image.
Magenta for the leaves on the background.
Tattered Angels for the words on the background.
Invoke Art for the wings.

The Jazz Age

This is my entry for the Less Is More challenge, the challenge this week is embossing. I stamped the background using a Marvy shades of orange blending blox ink pad and a Stampers Anonymous stamp off the psychedelic grunge set. For the main image I decided to use the lovely Hampton Art jazz stamp set that I bought at the Biggin Hill craft show last weekend. I stamped it with black pigment ink and embossed with black embossing powder, I also embossed the words.

Craft Room Challenge Design Team

The Craft Room shop opened its doors earlier this year and is full of lovely crafting goodies. You can visit the shop by clicking the link on my side bar, go and have a look, you wont be disappointed.

The Craft Room fortnightly challenges will be starting soon and they need crafters to join their design team, so after much shall I have a go or shan't I have a go, I have decided  I shall. To apply you have to post 3 projects and say why you would be right for the team.

I started rubber stamping about 15 years ago and love getting my fingers inky. My favorite style is the grungy distressed look but I do other styles as well. I must admit that I'm not a cute person but do enjoy colouring images with promarkers and watercolours.

Here are my projects, I decided to show three different styles.
I made this for a Grungy Monday challenge, there is a lot of stamping and inking, the flowers are handmade.
Here is a notebook that I altered using acrylic paint and glue to give the crackled effect.
Finally, this is a card that I made for the Less is More challenge. It's stamped and coloured with a red watercolour pencil and a waterbrush.

I started of with a basic white card blank, on to this I put a strip of white embossed card, then I attached a die cut flourish, then I attached the die cut flower with a gem in its centre.
The things I used are a Cuttlebug embossing folder, a Marrianne Design flourish die and a Sizzix Alterations flower die.

Butterfly Notes.

At Easter my daughter told me that she didn't want any chocolate, strange woman, so I altered a notebook and clipboard and made a post it note holder for her. I took the covers of the notebook and covered them with some pretty pink paper that was free with issue 3 of the Simply Homemade magazine. I went round the edges with vintage photo Distress ink. I used coffee Archival ink to stamp the background and the main butterfly image. I put some butterfly tissue tape on the cover and then matted some corrugated card and the image.
I was in a swap last year on KCUK and Chris the lady I swapped with made me a lovely post it note holder so I coppied how she made hers. I covered some mountboard with the paper then I stamped the main image onto card and cut them out individually and attatched them to the cover.
I painted the clipboard with some pink emulsion paint then stamped the background images with vintage photo Distress ink then I put a couple of strips of butterfly tissue tape on it. I attached a piece of stamped paper across the board. The main images were stamped with coffee Archival ink and then attached to the board. I also decorated the other side but didn't take a photo.
All the stamps that I used are of the Stampers Anonymous Papillon set.
